With a huge range of local issues and interests, the work of a constituency MP is incredibly important, and incredibly varied. Mark has always maintained that his constituents come first and his number one priority is to bring more work and prosperity to Wyre Forest.
"Wyre Forest has suffered over the years" says Mark, "as the carpet industry has declined. With just ten percent of the previous workforce still in the carpet industry, it is vital that we bring ne opportunities to our district. I see working towards this aim as a key part of the job of the local MP."
Mark's local work is varied. From taking on individual case work for constituents, helping to cut through red tape or find solutions to what seems like insurmountable problems, through tackling local issues affecting neighbourhoods, to the big strategic issues facing our district.
Mark's main priority is to bring more jobs to the district, to attract more opportunity and to bring a lasting solution to deal with the pockets of deprivation in Wyre Forest.
Mark frequently holds surgeries in Wyre Forest. A list of surgeries is available here: Mark Garnier's Surgeries
