Lawrence Recycling Centre Visit

The Foulkes Forge building on the Stourport Road has been undergoing a renaissance in the last couple of years. Two years ago, local company Lawrence Skip Hire entered into an agreement to buy the site and redevelop it into Europe’s biggest recycling centre. Two years and a severe downturn in the economy later, the recycling centre is open for business.

Mark visited the centre as a guest of David Lawrence to see progress and to see how new jobs have been brought to the area.

“The transformation is breathtaking.” Says Mark. “I brought David Cameron to visit this site two years ago and to learn about what the plans were. The results are a testament to the resolve of David Lawrence and his colleagues in making this happen. This is a fantastic project for the area and will set the benchmark by which other recycling centres are judged. David and his team are also very keen to provide educational opportunities for local children to see how waste can be recycled into useable goods. This is terrific in every sense.”
