Today, Gordon Brown finally called for the dissolution of Parliament and has named the date for the general election: 6th May. Preparations have been in place for months and the Conservative team have spent the day getting out the first of the posters, delivering the first election literature to voters, and knocking doors across Wyre Forest.
There is a mood for change. People still remember voting for a fresh start in 1997 and feel bitterly disappointed at the way the Labour government has turned out. But with such disappointment, they are rightly questioning how a Conservative team will change and do things differently from Labour. So none of us take Wyre Forest's vote for granted.
