Mark Garnier and West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin now have a date on which they can debate the regulation of independent financial advisers in the House of Commons. The debate will take place on the 29th of November and intends to cover the proposed new regulatory structure for the IFA industry. In particular Mark wants to focus on the impact of Retail Distribution Review (RDR) on the industry such as the need for advisors to take new exams or risk disqualification and the loss of commission. The debate is the culmination of more than two years of lobbying on behalf of the IFA community.
Mark urges all IFAs in Wyre Forest to contact him in the run-up to the debate. However, should you have an interest in this debate but live outside of Wyre Forest, Mark suggests that you contact your own MP and encourage him or her to also take part.
