Mark Garnier, Member of Parliament for Wyre Forest, has today expressed deep regret at the news that Sealine, the Kidderminster based luxury boats and yacht company, will be laying off staff. This announcement follows on from the news last week that there will also be jobs losses at Brintons Carpets.
Mark has been working with both companies to try to help the businesses but regrettably the wider economic situation meant that the outcome was unavoidable.
Speaking after he heard the news, Mark said:
“Every job lost is a tragedy for those families and individuals concerned. The economic situation in the UK, Europe and the rest of the world will inevitably have some effect on all our communities. However work continues to try to stimulate economic growth in Wyre Forest and to attract more businesses and employment opportunities to our District. Next week I will be announcing details of the Wyre Forest Job Fair which I have organised for the 29th March and I hope that this in some way can help those people who are looking for employment.”
