The Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce hosted a candidates' debate at the Malvern Science Park, giving local businesses an opportunity to ask Conservative candidates about their and their party's plans for businesses.
Mark Garnier (from Wyre Forest), Harriett Baldwin (West Worcestershire), Robin Walker (Worcester) and Jesse Norman (Hereford) took questions on a range of subjects from vacant business rates, housing development issues, infrastructure, tax rates and the local and national economic situation. About 30 businesses came to the event.
Speaking later, Mark said: "It is incredibly important that businesses get a chance to hear the views and opinions of those who may be their MPs after the next election. For the country, and our region, to stand any chance of recovering, we need MPs who not only are business friendly, but also understand business and the needs of businesses. The H+W Chamber is an incredibly important organisation for our local businesses and all of us were very grateful to them for organising this event."
