Mark Garnier, MP for Wyre Forest, welcomes the “excellent news” that Brinton’s Carpets has received a significant cash investment. The investment comes from The Carlyle Group, a global alternative asset manager, and has brought the carpet company out of administration. This in turn secures a substantial number of jobs in local Kidderminster.
Mark has had numerous meetings with the company which is the world's largest manufacturer of high-quality woven Axminster carpets. After hearing the news from Brinton’s Finance director Peter Johansen, he said,
“This is excellent news for both Brintons and Kidderminster. The investment by Carlyle secures not just the company for the future, but also Brintons’ place in Kidderminster as both a local company and a significant local employer. I look forward to working with Brintons under their new arrangements for many years to come.”
Brinton’s has announced that Carlyle’s investment will enable the company to implement its strategic plan to extend its international expansion. It will also support the company’s commitment to technological innovation including the development of Brintons’ new proprietary High Definition Weave technology.
