Mark urges Wyre Forest residents to sign caravan tax petition.
Mark has today (7th May 2012) sent out a petition to all caravan parks across Wyre Forest calling for a stop to the Coalition Government's proposed caravan tax. With 26 local caravan parks comprising over 2,500 caravans being affected, Mark believes this could damage Wyre Forest's tourism industry. Indeed the trade association believes sales of static caravans could fall by as much as 30%.
Mark Garnier, says:
"Tourism is a significant driver of Wyre Forest's local economy. It is vital that we do everything we can to preserve this industry. That is why I, and a number of my colleagues, are taking action to persuade the Coalition Government of the error of its ways and to convince it to allow the zero tax status quo to be maintained."
