Mark Garnier MP for Wyre Forest recently visited local furniture supplier and manufacturer Witley Jones of Stourport whom he has been supporting in his bid to use only local material suppliers for his new office in Kidderminster.
Mark was delighted to visit Witley Jones who have been manufacturing home, school and office furniture in Wyre Forest for 14 years. Situated on Sandy Lane Industrial Estate, They have recently expanded the business with a major investment in 'state of the art' CNC woodworking machines.
Mark, who has been an ardent supporter of local businesses since he first became involved in politics, said "In financial times such as these, it is encouraging to visit an expanding Company like Witley Jones. I was very interested to hear what Managing Director Chris Jones had to say about being in business in the UK at this time."
Mark continued "I was delighted to be able to place an order with Witley Jones for my constituency office furniture, as I believe it is so important to lead by example. I made it very clear to my staff that, where possible, I want as many of the items we use in the course of our business to be sourced from within the constituency. I will be keeping a keen eye on Witley Jones and wish Chris and his team every success in the future."
Mr Jones said "Given the bad press Parliament received last year, it was very refreshing to meet Mark and, of course, I was delighted to get the order for his office furniture. He was keen to visit the factory and it gave me a chance to air my views about the pressures put upon small businesses within the UK".
