Mark and other Worcestershire MPs joined forces yesterday at the Worcestershire Food Fair in Westminster Hall. The event was designed to promote the high quality foods that the county has to offer.
Over 20 producers held stores at the fair which saw a visit from Caroline Spelman, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Business Minister, John Hayes, and the Chancellor, George Osborne. Producers from Wyre Forest included:
- - Worcestershire Community Land Trust;
- - Bewdley Brewery;
- - Son and Styles Apple Juice;
- - Hop Pole Inn Bewdley and;
- - Forest Pig from Bell Farm, Far Forest
Food writers and supermarket buyers from Tesco and Sainsbury's, also attended.
Mark said:
"It was a great pleasure to be able to showcase the county in Westminster. I was really pleased to see such a good turnout from Wyre Forest and the produce was incredibly well received by all those who came to visit. Our county has a lot to offer and it is right that all Worcestershire MPs support our local producers in every way we can."
